Safety & contraindications

Answer:

It is entirely safe, completely painless and there are no side effects. It has been used in hospitals in China for over 30 years. Infrared waves are harmless to the human body and differ from other types of waves emitted from such items as mobile telephones, televisions and microwaves. The BIOlamp is a CE approved product.

Q: When should I not use the BIOlamp?  BACK TO TOP

Answer:

We recommend that the lamp is not used in cases of fever, diabetes, peripheral vascular conditions, or serious arteriosclerosis. All of these conditions are contra-indicated where the application of heat treatment is concerned. In the cases of diabetes (I & II) and peripheral vascular conditions, the specific reason is that the individual may experience lack of sensitivity and / or numbness in certain areas which could in turn lead to possible burning of the skin should the lamp be placed too close to the body. Not suitable for pregnant women. Patients with hypertension must avoid treatment of the head. Patients who wear a pacemaker should avoid treatment of the chest. If using BIOlamps around the head or face, ensure that the eyes are protected.

Answer:

The BIOlamps/Shen Niao brand electromagnetic lamps are manufactured in China according to government patent control. They are produced by Chongqing Zhongzhi Medical Instrument Ltd (formerly Chongqing Zhongshan Institute of Applied Technology) which has over 18 years of experience in researching and manufacturing the bio-spectrum lamps. In Chinese the BIOlamp is called the Te Dingdianci Po device (the TDP).  BIOlamps is certified for supply into the EU.

 

How does the BIOlamp work?

Answer:

First of all, there is no bulb in the BIOlamp. The heat and therapeutic waves are emitted through a special treatment plate that is made up of 33 minerals.

  1. Pre-heat the lamp for approximately 20 minutes
  2. Ensure that the treatment area is clean and is exposed.
  3. Direct the lamp at the treatment area ensuring that the distance between the two is between 20 and 35 cm
  4. The temperature of the skin should be at a comfortable level to the user. Adjust the distance of the lamp or the temperature control to reach this temperature.
  5. Recommended treatment time is between 30 and 60 minutes but use it as little or as long as required (if using the timer on the lamp, it will turn itself off at the end of the treatment)
  6. Use the BIOlamp once or twice a day.

Q: Can it be used with other treatments?   BACK TO TOP

Answer:

The lamp can be used in conjunction with acupuncture therapy and other kinds of treatment, such as chiropractic/osteopathic/physiotherapy treatment. This can greatly improve the result of the therapy.

It is safe for patients who have been prescribed medication by their doctor to use the BIOlamp at the same time.

It is safe to use the BIOlamp on prosthesis or joint replacement areas. However, we recommend covering the joint replacement with a thin piece of cloth.

Answer:

Yes. You do not need to be suffering from a particular disorder or ailment. The BIOlamp can deliver excellent results for people who are feeling generally run-down or tired.

Q: How can I compare this device to an ordinary infrared lamp?   BACK TO TOP

Answer:

The medical function of the BIOlamp greatly exceeds that of a device which uses only heat therapy to alleviate the condition. It is through the active absorption of the unique and complex wave spectrum emitted by the BIOlamp that the beneficial effects are produced.

All online transactions are processed directly through a secure bank transaction. BIOlamps never sees or registers any credit card information.

Customers may also wish to pay by cheque. You will be covered by our Try Before You Buy Terms.

Q: How soon can I get one?   BACK TO TOP

Answer:

We use secure courier service for all UK orders. Your order will be delivered within 7 to 15 working days.

However, most people will receive their lamp within 3 to 4 working days.

Deliveries are made on Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. There will be no deliveries on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays (or the day following a Bank Holiday).

Q: What if I am not home when delivery is made?  BACK TO TOP

Answer:

The courier will attempt delivery up to two times if not successful, each time leaving a card which will have the contact telephone number. Please call to arrange re-delivery. We would advise you to indicate the delivery address where you are most likely to be (even at your work place, providing the name of the person / company / firm / office where you can receive it).

How can I get replacement mineral plates?

The BIOlamp mineral plate typically lasts 1000 hours or three years of conventional use (if used for one hour per day) whichever comes the sooner. If you do wish to replace the plate at the end of three years, a replacement service is provided by us at £150.00.

When I receive it, how will I know how and when to use it?

Every BIOlamp comes with full instructions to guide you and has been designed for ease of use and convenience.

Answer:

We are confident that the BIOlamp will provide you with safe, effective pain relief. Just call us on 0800 036 1136 and we’ll get one despatched to you.

The Home Approval Scheme is £69.99. If you choose not to purchase the BIOlamp you must return it within 14 days of receipt.

If you choose to keep the BIOlamp, only the purchase price is payable. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

Due to the high number of product that are never returned to the Company, the purchase price must be paid before despatch.

Q: How should I return it?   BACK TO TOP

Answer:

First check that your BIOlamp meets these two requirements:

- It's in the same condition in which it was originally sent.

- It's in the original packaging.

Your statutory rights

Where an item has a fault that was present when it was delivered, you have the right to reject it provided you do so reasonably quickly and, in any event, you have the right to a replacement. You must contact the customer services number and arrange a free courier pick up service for the faulty item. These rights do not apply in respect of fair wear and tear, misuse, or accidental damage.
